Elf on the Shelf 2025

Last year, my kids really wanted to do Elf on the Shelf (their cousins were really into Elf on the Shelf at the time). I was wary, because we already do so many Christmas activities and countdowns. I decided they could on two conditions. One, Ashtyn was in charge of the elves and moving them. Two, we would only do a twelve day countdown with the elves instead of the entire month (that's what their cousins do).

This year, the kids really wanted to get a girl Elf, and even held an "Elf wedding" for them (next year, they want to get an Elf baby). Ashtyn had a lot of fun (with very little help from me) moving the elves around.

Ashtyn was sick the first day, but she still wanted to do (I'd offered to do it for her). We kept it simple.

Oliver was especially excited once the elves moved again because he got to play with Jenga blocks all day.

The kids have been telling "orange ya glad" jokes for months now, so this one was very appropriate.

This one was Ashtyn's favorite.

Ashtyn hid the chocolate coins all over in the bathroom.

The tic tacs were labeled as "coal".

This is another one Ashtyn was very excited about.

When Ashtyn did the "snowball toss" one, Parker was doing her no screens activity with Mom and Dad, so she was downstairs with us and wanted to get a picture as well.

Ashtyn wasn't happy with leaning it against the wall, but we couldn't figure out a better way to keep it from falling over.

And the final day!
The kids were excited to eat the marshmallows.
Ashtyn also left a goodbye note from them, but I guess I didn't get it in the picture.

It was a fun holiday season and the kids loved the elves!
