We had a wonderful time celebrating Easter this year, with family and our little newborn 🩷 I found myself cutting back on what I normally do (Leah is doing a little better at night, but still wants to be held for most naps, so I don't have a lot of time) while also focusing on some of my kids' favorite traditions. Leading up to Easter, we managed to color boiled eggs, do a Christ-focused Easter countdown from Latter Day Baby, and make deviled eggs, potato salad, and sugar cookies.
Easter weekend started off up at Ben's grandma's cabin with his extended family. It was extra special as we recently found out his grandma has cancer and we're not sure how much longer she'll be with us. The kids had a blast, catching lizards and scorpions between roasting hot dogs.
Then we drove back for our Easter egg hunt.
Oliver and Leah both fell asleep 🩷
Easter egg hunt with cousins!
Thomas and Parker were quite the team, finding most of the "trickier" eggs that Ben and I hid.
The twins got really into it!
And the little boys did too! It was so fun to watch all the 3 year olds "finding" eggs.
Augustine's first egg hunt!
I couldn't quite get Kolson to stand still long enough to get a picture 😅
We had a blast at the hunt!
We did some organic candy but tried not to do too much, so we also supplemented with coins and some cool stickers that Melissa had.
Then Koy went and got pizza and the kids got to play outside until it was time to go home for bed.

For the girls this year, we did candy, a DVD (Ashtyn got Wicked, Rylee got Moana 2, and Parker got Honey I Shrunk the Kids), ballet slippers, a ballet leotard, and a heart locket. Oliver got his candy, Winnie the Pooh DVDs, some stacking cups, and a "tiger boy" costume. Tiger Boy is a made up super hero that he and Ben made up together. We got him tiger pajamas and Melissa made him a black cape for the costume. He was so excited when he saw it.
We did a combined gift for them this year as well--more magnet blocks because the ones we have are starting to break and are also a hot commodity. We also gave them a couple packages of peeps to share.
Easter morning 🩷
Easter Sunday was also Ben and my 12 year anniversary 🩷
(we celebrated by doing our first date since Leah the next day)
Ben took the girls to church. I had thought about going for Easter, but ultimately decided I wasn't ready to take Leah yet. Oliver and I stayed home with her and watched his new Winnie the Pooh movies.

We finished off the weekend by going to Lindi's house for an Easter program and sugar cookies with cousins!
It was a great weekend full of family and remembering Christ!
