Ashtyn's 10th Birthday!

 Ashtyn's tenth birthday was a fun couple of days celebrating! She was excited to reach double digits and wanted a Harry Potter theme.

For her birthday countdown, the first day she got cake flour to learn how to make Angel Food Cake. She loved it and it turned out yummy!

I was able to make donuts in the morning, one of Ashtyn's favorite traditions.

All set and decorated! Because of Hannah's wedding over the weekend, we celebrated with family the day before Ashtyn's birthday.

We get a book for the kids each year for their birthday (with their birthday date) and I couldn't resist getting her the whole Harry Potter series since she loves it so much right now.

For her date, we took Ashtyn to Joann's and let her pick out a craft to do together. She picked air drying clay. We took it home and looked up some tutorials and made some things together.

The next day was her actual birthday and I decided to take the kids out to Thanksgiving Point for the day. We went to the butterfly biosphere. 

They had a lot of fun! Ashtyn never wanted to leave.

Before we left Thanksgiving Point, we stopped so the kids could have an ice cream cone.

Then we went to Wendy's for a late lunch/early dinner before driving home. The drive home was pretty crazy, with a lot of rain. At one point, we had to turn off the audiobook because the hail/rain was so loud hitting the car. But we made it safely.

For her birthday dinner, Ashtyn wanted steak in the air fryer with Brussel sprouts!

We are so happy to have Ashtyn in our family, I can't believe how fast she is growing up. It was fun to celebrate her!

Our Family Memories in September!

 We had a wonderful time in September! We were able to spend time with a lot of family and I finally started feeling better from morning sickness. We also enjoyed the warm weather while it lasted!

We also got to announce our pregnancy, which was really fun!

The funnest part was telling the kids. Both Ben and I teared up when they read the end. Oliver didn't really get it at first, but a few hours later, it clicked for him. He came over and asked if I had a baby in me. I said yes and he gave it a hug and kiss and he has been beyond excited since then.

Ashtyn is always creating something.

Oliver went through a phase where he was struggling to nap very consistently (thankfully, he's past that for now). He was tucked.

We did have to deal with some sickness. I hate sick kids.

Ashtyn got a cookbook from the library and was trying out all sorts of new recipes. She loves cooking!

She's also been doing guitar lessons and learning more with it, and really loving it.

They stopped making Zone Perfect bars, so we did a little party where we could all test taste different protein bars. We had a lot of fun with it, even if it was a bit nerdy.

The kids found a toad on our front porch!

And a snake in the front! One of their favorite activities now is snake hunting.

We also did some pickleball lessons for homeschool. Ben and I were having them do different drills to practice basic skills.

And of course they love playing at the park afterward.

But the kids all loved fishing! They each took turns with Grandpa and Rylee got three on one pole! It was a lot of fun for the kids.

September was a great month full of great memories.
