Rylee turned 4 this last week and we had such a blast celebrating her!
We do a theme for the family party each year and this year Rylee wanted Encanto! This was the invitation we made.
She bought the Mirabel dress with her own money. I got the doll and candle as a decoration for the table and couldn't help but get her these glasses.
The kids colored and cut out Encanto pictures for the wall.
And Ashtyn made yellow origami butterflies to add to the table.
Cousins 💗
I had word searches and extra coloring pages for all the kids if they wanted.
In January, I made Ben an Angel Food Cake for his birthday because it's his favorite. Rylee also loved and it decided she wanted it for her birthday. She didn't forget, so I made some for her.
Happy birthday to Rylee! We did her party a day early because Jessica and Donovan had to leave Thursday morning. Rylee was especially excited to find out that Kolson (their baby) got to come to her birthday 💗😂 Rylee also had a bit of a struggle blowing out her candles 😂
Elizabeth got her a little Ariel doll and made her card 💗
Aunt Melissa's family got her Encanto toys and she loved them! She also loved all the cards from her grandparents 💗
Our birthday tradition is to get our kids a couple of books as a present to open and then take them on a date with Mom and Dad. This year, the books I was going to get her didn't arrive in time (they're lost somewhere 😩) so we got her a couple of her favorite Halloween books.
She highly enjoyed her Angel Food Cake (though she was almost too busy playing with cousins and her new toys to actually eat it haha)
Ashtyn dishing herself up seconds ... we were a little worried she wouldn't be able to eat it all, and we were right.
But don't worry. The little boys found it and finished it off for her 😂
Rhen came first. I'm not sure he was very happy to share 😂
Oliver loved the ice cream!
Just the cutest boys!
McKenzie and her boys came, so I got to hold her baby again 💗
The next morning, we took Rylee on her birthday date. She wanted to hike to Moonshine Arch, her favorite place in Vernal. We left early to do it, because we knew it was going to get hot. Unfortunately, we ran into issues. The road up to Moonshine Arch is made of sandy dirt all packed down, but they recently leveled out the road. Because of that, there are big divots in the dirt that look like you can drive over them, but then you get stuck instead. A car in front of us got stuck and we spent over 20 minutes trying to help them get out. Once enough people were helping push, they were able to get out. The people who are in charge of taking care of the road there were saying that a lot of people kept getting stuck and they were working to try to fix it. We were worried that if we continued, we would also get stuck, so we decided to find a different hike to try.
We wanted to do somewhere close because it was already getting warmer, so we decided to try the Staneiker Nature Trail. It was not the greatest hike, but Rylee was excited to do a new hike.
Even though Ben and I weren't too impressed with the trail, Rylee had a lot of fun and that is the most important thing.
She kept "getting tired" on the way back, so we took turns giving her a piggyback ride. After the hike, we stopped for donuts (I usually make donuts for breakfast on birthdays, but since her date was early, we just bought them from our favorite local donut shop this year) and then hung out with cousins at Ben's parents' house all morning.
Oliver took a turn wearing the Encanto doll glasses 😂
I put them on him in the first picture, and then in the second, he kept trying to put them on himself.
That night, Rylee wanted to do a family movie night. We made nachos and watched Free Willy (a movie they have been wanting to watch for quite awhile). They found several parts at the end (like when the boy is saying goodbye or when the men are stopping the whale from escaping in the ocean) too sad to handle. They all ended up sobbing at different times and needed to sit with Mom for comfort. All three ended up loving the movie though 💗
We loved celebrating Rylee and she had a great time being spoiled by family!
