February was a great month for our family, as we made memories together, prepared for the baby, and enjoyed the weather starting to warm up just a little.
Story time with Ashtyn 🩷
In January and February, we rewatched Avatar the Last Airbender. Everyone (including Oliver) loved it and it was fun to see Parker and Ashtyn enjoying it so much now that they are a little older. The kids then loved playing Avatar and making the chairs into Oppa (not sure how to spell that).
Rylee loves her potions kit.
And Parker and Ashtyn have been loving the light boards and making flip books.
Ben's flip book.
Oliver painting and drinking his smoothie 🩷
Oliver told me he was hiding from his sisters here.
I was excavating dinosaurs from my wheat one day haha
The kids entered a bookmark competition through the library.
They didn't win, but they had fun with it.
Rylee's creations that she taped on the door.
The girls love making girls (out of paper or blocks) and then having them "practice" piano.
Rylee's ballerine.
Oliver's creation.
And another thing Oliver colored.
Thomas and Parker "playing" music 🩷
Jonathan sleeping while we babysat him.
Ben's cousin and her family, including the twins, moved into our neighborhood in February and we've loved having them so close!
The kids love asking Grandpa to make them things in his wood shop!
It's hard when you're working on dropping your nap ...
One day at naptime, I went up and he said, "This is what I made!"
I started staying in his room with him and he'd always fall asleep if I did, usually in about 20 minutes. We had to start alternating days or he wouldn't go to sleep at night though. He really needed the nap though, because he would wake up early (6:30 instead of 7:30 or 8). Once Daylight Savings hit in March, we just dropped his nap and he started sleeping until after 7 most days and it's worked pretty well.
Oliver also got into Winnie the Pooh, so we got the movie from the library and I loved watching him laugh and laugh during the movie.
After painting our room, I rearranged our bookshelves in our bedroom and I love it.
Our dishwasher stopped working for a bit in February and Ben fixed it (with Oliver's help, of course).
Making Valentines!
Our Valentine's Day tradition--leaving homemade Valentine's at everyone's spots at the table (this started as I kept my mom's tradition of doing it and the kids wanted to join in).
Another tradition I started was leaving a Valentine on their wall by their bed each night in February leading up to Valentine's Day.
The kids love it and I have a lot of fun with it each year.
I also took the kids out for a last trip to Thanksgiving Point before the baby comes when I was 36 weeks. We stayed with my mom's cousins and had a blast with them. The trip would have been worth it just to visit them, the kids had so much fun and I loved seeing them. The girls got to sleep in their theater room and Oliver got to sleep with Mom.
He kept wanting to make silly faces so we could send them to Daddy, who stayed home to work.
Then we went to the Museum of Curiousity!
The kids had a ton of fun and I had to bribe them with lunch at Wendy's to get them to leave (their favorite place to eat when we travel). It was very tiring to do this so pregnant, but it was so much fun and very worth it!
When we got home and I recovered a little (it took me a couple of days 😅), I was able to start painting our walkin closet, the last thing I wanted to get painted before the baby comes (the only room we have left now is Ben's office, but he didn't want to try to get it in before the baby). I didn't finish in February like I was originally planning, but it felt good to get started.
February was a good month for our family and I'm happy with all the memories we made together and all the things we were able to get done.
