Each year for our anniversary, Ben and I take turns choosing what we want to do. This year was Ben's turn and he wanted to go somewhere we could play pickleball outside together. We found an airbnb in St. George with courts and had a lot of fun!
We drove out on Thursday morning with the kids to my mom's house. It only added a little bit of driving time and it was so nice that my mom was able to watch them! Then we drove to St. George.
Our Airbnb had an amazing view of St. George from the back porch and was in a pretty good location. After getting settled, we went and played some pickleball before dinner.
Walking around St. George while waiting for dinner.
We ate at George's Corner Restaurant. We got a hamburger and a chicken sandwich and each had half. The hamburger was okay, but the sandwich was amazing and so was the salad.
After dinner, we got some ice cream and relaxed back at our Airbnb.
We spent the next morning playing pickleball together. Then we got ready and went to lunch. We decided to go back to George's becuase we liked it so much. I got the sandwich again and loved it.
Then we went to the temple to do sealings.
It was sweet being there and remembering our wedding day.
Afterwards, we walked around the temple grounds and had to take pictures of the lizards, bugs, and flowers for the kids. When we got back to our airbnb, we went out to the pools and lay out tanning some.
Then we decided to get dinner and went to a brick oven pizza place. It was yummy!
Then we played pickleball as the temperature cooled down. After we finished pickleball, we played a Case of the Golden Idol, a game we've been playing through together.
One of my favorite breakfasts that we only have on special occasions is Life Cereal with strawberries.
Slow mornings 💗
I have a hard time sleeping in, but I love slow mornings spent reading.
On Saturday morning (our anniversary), we met up with Ben's cousin and his family. We played pickleball with them, visited, and got lunch. It was really fun to meet them (and for Ben to catch up with them) and we were really glad we were able to meet up with them. After lunch, it was pretty hot outside so we played more of The Case of the Golden Idol until it was time to get ready for dinner.
For dinner, we went to The Cliffside Restaurant. It was an amazing atmosphere, with the restaurant set on the side of a mountain. We were seated outside on a balcony and it overlooked all of St. George.
We started with Brussel sprouts, which were really yummy and very flavorful.
I got a chili salmon with rice and vegetables and it was delicious.
Ben got their steak, which was also really good. We were originally going to split our meals and share, but we both liked what we ordered more than what the other did, so we ended up just eating our own meal. We ended the meal with a piece of cheesecake to share, which was pretty good.
From dinner, we went right to a hike. We thought it was a loop trail, but realized later that only the end of it looped, so we turned back a little early.
The kids love lizards (and catching lizards when hiking) so we had to get a video.
We also had to take pictures of all the flora and plants for the kids 😂
This is where we had dinner haha
Zoomed in at the Cliffside Restaurant.
Lots of hawks flying around.
The hike was beautiful and really fun.
We spent Sunday driving back to the kids and then driving home.
It was a long drive home but we were hapy to be back.
And happy to be together again!
It was a wonderful trip!
