Our Family Memories in DECEMBER!

December was a crazy month! On top of Christmas and all the activities leading up to it, we spent a lot of time with family and quite a bit of time being sick. It was overall a great month and we're grateful for all the new memories we made together.

Our digital Christmas card!

Oliver loves babies and he loves holding the twins πŸ’—
It melts my mommy heart.

Ben got a new pickleball paddle that he was very excited about!

Parker's drawing of Aladdin.

Parker drawing a song.
Can you guess what song she drew?
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, once I caught a fish alive ...

Ashtyn and Rylee got very into origami together and made things like this little ring together.

Rylee's drawing of Frosty the Snowman πŸ’—πŸ’—

I have a shirt that says, "Bookmarks are for Quitters."
This is Ashtyn's version, made with a piece of paper and a plastic bag. πŸ˜‚

Someone made a present out of magnet blocks and put it under the Christmas tree πŸ’—

Rylee and Oliver's tower!

Slow motion.

Playdoh creations!

Ashtyn recording herself doing some tumbling.

Snuggles!

This is the kids' new favorite game and Oliver is too adorable!

A stomach bug went through the kids and I πŸ’—
It started with Ashtyn, so we spent the day relaxing and watching Home Alone.

My favorite part of Home Alone is watching Rylee laugh at it!

That night, we had the ward Christmas party. Ben stayed home with Ashtyn (they played a new video game and she wasn't sad about it at all) while I took the other kids to the party. At the end, we waited in line for Santa and it took awhile. Oliver patiently sat and watched Santa like this while we waited πŸ’—

They love Santa!

Ashtyn had her Christmas concert for her theater class and did a great job! She worked hard at all her songs and you can tell she had fun with it. She was also so happy that Jon and Amanda could come out for it and that Elizabeth could come watch.

She also tried out for a solo and got the part!
She did such a great job and it was fun to watch her perform!

Grandma Leah's Christmas party was the Sunday before Christmas.
She is so great with all her grandchildren and great grandchildren πŸ’—

Fun games with cousins!

Mom is now sick! So snuggles with Oliver by the tree πŸ’—
And the balloon needs snuggles too ...

Oliver would climb under the tree and when I would tell him to come out, he'd say that he was a Christmas present πŸ˜‚

Sick snuggles and baths πŸ’—

More sick snuggles πŸ’—

Parker wanted me to make kiss cookies that weren't peanut butter because she doesn't like peanut butter. I tried these, but unfortunately, Parker didn't like them much either πŸ˜‚

I remember taking this picture. I felt so miserable, in a lot of pain from a sinus infection in my cheek. We were watching a lot of Christmas movies and just trying to do the bare minimum (which is more than normal at Christmas time). The next morning I was able to go to Urgent Care and get some help with it, but it was a miserable day and night.

Rylee and Oliver loved the dancing in White Christmas!

I love Christmas cards!

Finally starting to feel a little better! It was such a relief to not be miserable for Christmas.

One of Ben's favorite presents was this frame for his collector's edition card.

Dad giving Parker a little lesson with their new guitar πŸ’—

Ben got this picture of Ashtyn and I filling out our calendars together πŸ˜‚

😍😍

They know how to do Christmas break right.

After Christmas, Ben set up my main present--bookshelves for Oliver's room.
I couldn't love them more!

We ended up out in Salt Lake for my birthday, so Ben and I went out to dinner while my mom watched the kids. I wanted cheesecake, so we Googled restaurants with good cheesecake and ended up at this grill (now I can't find it anywhere when I search online and I can't remember the name of it). It was super yummy! We got hamburgers, fries, salads, and asparagus.

My cheesecake! It was really good cheesecake.

When we got home the next day, we went to Ben's parents' house for a little party for his dad's birthday. Oliver loves ice cream!

Oliver was so happy to be home πŸ˜‚

Oliver loves Scooby Doo right now.
I just can't even with how cute he is.

We finished off the year with our little New Year's Eve party!
We let Rylee stay up until 10 (we made Ashtyn and Parker wait until they were six) and played games with popcorn and lemonade. Then I ended up sick again with some sort of stomach bug and was throwing up, but Ben finished up the games with the kids and we let them watch an episode of Avatar. Before they went to bed, we watched last year's ball drop. They had a blast!
