Halloween 2024!

We had a lot of fun celebrating Halloween together this year!

We started off the morning at the library, doing their little trick or treat. We got to go with cousins and it was fun!

The kids were all dragons this year!

It coincided with the book Ben and I wrote to tell the kids we were having another baby, so I got myself a shirt to match.

We had jock-o-lantern pizza, taco soup, and pumpkin pie cookies for dinner. Then we went trick or treating on our street with a whole crew (though we somehow forgot to get a picture). Melissa and her kids, Makenzie and Koy and their kids, McKenzie and her three boys, and Jordann with Hadlee came.

After trick or treating, we stopped by the grandma's houses for a few minutes and then the kids picked out a bag of candy to keep. The rest went to the "Switch Witch".

This year the Switch Witch brought water paints with colored pencils. The kids were beyond excited and have been painting nonstop since!

Ashtyn's 10th Birthday!

Ashtyn's tenth birthday was a fun couple of days celebrating! She was excited to reach double digits and wanted a Harry Potter theme.

For her birthday countdown, the first day she got cake flour to learn how to make Angel Food Cake. She loved it and it turned out yummy!

Getting ready!

I was able to make donuts in the morning, one of Ashtyn's favorite traditions.

All set and decorated! Because of Hannah's wedding over the weekend, we celebrated with family the day before Ashtyn's birthday.

We get a book for the kids each year for their birthday (with their birthday date) and I couldn't resist getting her the whole Harry Potter series since she loves it so much right now.

Happy birthday to Ashtyn!

For her date, we took Ashtyn to Joann's and let her pick out a craft to do together. She picked air drying clay. We took it home and looked up some tutorials and made some things together.

The next day was her actual birthday and I decided to take the kids out to Thanksgiving Point for the day. We went to the butterfly biosphere.

They had a lot of fun! Ashtyn never wanted to leave.

Before we left Thanksgiving Point, we stopped so the kids could have an ice cream cone.

Then we went to Wendy's for a late lunch/early dinner before driving home. The drive home was pretty crazy, with a lot of rain. At one point, we had to turn off the audiobook because the hail/rain was so loud hitting the car. But we made it safely.

For her birthday dinner, Ashtyn wanted steak in the air fryer with Brussel sprouts!

We are so happy to have Ashtyn in our family, I can't believe how fast she is growing up. It was fun to celebrate her!
