Our JUNE FAMILY Memories - Summer Fun and Covid

June was quite the month for our family! We started off with Parker's birthday celebrations, had a staycation and my mom visiting in the middle, and ended the month with Covid.

We love getting outside as much as possible in the summer 💗

This is a snake the Grandpa Danny found while we were there for Ashtyn's piano lessons.

The girls get their love of snakes from their father, not their mother.

Another day, Danny had found a kitten. The girls were in love, though we tried to keep them back because the poor kitty was pretty scared.

Parker loves dancing. This was her dance after watching some people dance on YouTube.

Park days!

Oliver loves swinging!

Playing outside!

For donut day, we made some donuts.
I'm still working on perfecting them, but they turned out really yummy.

At a family meeting, we were talking about fire safety and Ben made a joke about roasting marshmallows if our house was on fire. Rylee thought it was so funny!

We moved the girls' playhouse upstairs (instead of in the back) and they think it's the greatest thing ever.

Ashtyn loved this trick she learned and wanted a slow motion video of it.

💗💗

Mike Wazowski!

We got this pan in this box from Amazon ...
We kept the box in the basement for later projects.

The girls love the song "Call Me Maybe" and this is
Rylee's version:
"Call me Navy!"

Drinking hose water 💗

We love playing in water!

Rylee smashed her hand in the door, so she needed apples, popsicles, and four wheeler rides from Grandpa to feel better 💗

Ashtyn loves to carry Oliver around.
Since becoming mobile, Oliver likes it less.

Sometimes you just need extra mom snuggles 💗

I love little baby feet 😍

He didn't want to pu his leg down in the grass 😂

Ashtyn posed her "box family" for family pictures and then borrowed my phone to get a picture 😂

Ashtyn found her trap once the water in the creek in went down and she had caught 4 crawdads!
She wanted to keep them, but we made her let them go.

Oliver has become our little mimic.
He sat and watched Rylee play with this toy at the library. When she was done, he started hitting them with the hammer just like she had done.

He's also learned to wave and it's basically my favorite thing in the world.

Banana bread and smoothies for dinner when we had a lot of brown bananas!

Ben's cousins were in charge of a local musical (Newsies) and Hannah was in it, so Ashtyn and Parker and I went to see it (Ben stayed home to watch the younger two kids). It was SO good! We had so much fun going to it together.

Rylee always loves being read to 💗

Rylee looking at some books from Ashtyn's nightstand.

Oliver loves sitting on the tramp!

Parker is so funny when she jumps!

Parker and Uncle Dalin 💗

Hunting for bugs.

Oliver learned to crawl this month and now he's a pro!
He loves being able to get around places.

Oliver loves crawling into the kitchen, probably because he's more likely to find some crumbs there than the living room 😂

Ashtyn lying on her "bed" that they drew outside.

I asked Ashtyn to put this up high in the pantry.
She came back and said, "You aren't going to believe how high I got it!" 😂

When everyone was sick, the girls didn't want their hot chocolate, so Oliver got to try some.
He no longer sucks on bottles, though, he chews on them.

I have a video of all my kids as babies eating lemons.
I tried so hard to get a "sour face", but he never made one. He just thought the lemon was yummy 😂

When we would first put these muffin liners on his head, he would try to reach them to take them off 😂 now he just shakes his head until they come off.

All ready for stake conference!
I was in the back with them, since we took Uncle Dalin with us.
He got set apart as an elder, which was really special.

Oliver loves all food 😍

Oliver loves to throw things!

The chocolate ice cream was all gone 😂

Him loves raspberries!

Me, trying to eat without sharing.
Oliver wasn't fooled at all 😂

Oliver's first tooth!
He also has his other bottom tooth poking out now.

Parker, leaving a literal trail of breadcrumbs for Oliver.

He had woken up, sat up, then folded himself in half and fell asleep again.

We've had to get out our baby gate too!

One of Oliver's favorite things to do is to find things that roll. Then he pushes them around and crawls after them.

The day before Ben got sick, we were able to go to Redfleet.
It's our favorite lake in Vernal and we thought we wouldn't be able to go at all this year because of construction. Their construction got pushed back, though, and we were excited. The water was pretty low, but we were able to find a little beach spot for Oliver.

Ashtyn swam out to the dock!

She loves to swim!

Oliver thought the sand was quite tasty (though we still will never have a baby who liked eating sand as much as Parker did).

Rylee never "swam" but she got pretty deep in the water. Even after she slipped and had to be rescued, she was brave enough to go deep. It's a step forward from last year.

The girls had a seaweed collection.

And Parker swam this year! It's the first year she's let her feet not touch the water without clinging to mom, so it's a big step forward for her.

Uncle Dalin came up too and we loved having him there with us.

It was such a perfect day for the lake.

And then we got sick. Ben got a headache on Wednesday night (the day we went to the lake). By the next morning, he was hit really hard with it. On Friday, we got a home test for Covid and it came back positive. Friday night, Oliver started acting grumpy and then got a low fever.

Saturday, Oliver had a fever all day. He would wake up, eat, and then go back to sleep (on me or in his crib). Parker and I also woke up feeling pretty sick. I had made popsicles, but Parker didn't like them and was pretty sad about it (and really struggling), so Grandpa Danny brought some popsicles over. We ended up giving Parker some medicine because her fever was making her pretty miserable. It really helped and that evening we ordered pizza. She ate a lot of it and we had to work to keep her resting.

Parker had a rough time of it on Saturday 😔

Oliver needed Momma snuggles 💗

Sunday morning, Ashtyn woke up sick. At this point, everyone but Rylee was sick enough to just lie around, which was pretty hard. Rylee was bored and wanted to get into everything. It was sad when she got sick on Sunday night, but it was also a little bit of a relief because then I didn't have to try to keep her corralled somehow.

Monday, Parker was doing a bit better, but was still sick enough that she mostly laid on the couch. Oliver was over his fever by Sunday, but also didn't feel the greatest. The biggest struggle for me was trying to help Oliver when he didn't feel good while also feeling like I was dying.

We had a neighbor bring the girls chocolate milk when they wanted it, which was Ashtyn and Rylee's favorite thing ever. I think besides Ben, the sickness hit Rylee the hardest.

We spent all day watching Barbie movies.

Rylee sick with a fever, singing about Jesus 💗

Trying to keep Oliver happy but also not wanting to get up.

Oliver peeking up over the side of the couch at me.

By Tuesday, the kids were all doing a lot better. It took Ben and I the rest of the week to start feeling more normal again.

My mom sent these dresses to the girls and they thought it was the greatest thing ever 💗 it was a rough last week of the month, but with lots of take out and movies, we survived it. I'm really grateful for all the people who helped us and offered to help us. 💗
