Halloween 2023!

Halloween was a crazy busy day for us this year. We had cousins with us and had a lot of activities to do and family to see. We had a blast and were all exhausted by the end of it.

Our trick or treating crew this year!
We had five families, 16 kids, 3 strollers (2 of which were double strollers), and 5-6 adults (Ben stayed home to hand out candy for us). We were able to keep everyone together because the kids would run to the stroller with the baby twins as soon as they had trick or treated a house, instead of the next house.

In the morning, we went with cousins to the library Halloween activity. It's always really cute, they have trick or treating through the library, the city building, and the museum. They set up decorations at each stop and some of them are super elaborate. They end up with candy, but not too much! It's my favorite Halloween activity each year.

Rylee was excited to find her "emeny" (or stepmother), Fairy Godmother, and castle!

And then Parker found the mermaid place!

We had three princesses and a prince for Halloween!
Melissa and I were a little crazy and decided to use a straightener and pencil to curl all the girls' hair in the afternoon, as well as their makeup. We probably overdid it, but the girls all loved it.

Oliver loved that Jonathan was Scooby Doo, since he loves the show right now!

It was super fun to get all dressed up with cousins!

Each year, we have taco soup, Jack o' lantern pizza from Papa Murphy's, and chocolate chip muffins.
I also made caramel apples, but they're not pictured.

After we trick or treated our street, we went over to Auntie Hannah's, Grandma Leah's, and Grandma Lindi's house. By the time we got home and sorted our candy to leave some for the Switch Witch, it was pretty late and the kids fell right asleep. Caleb came over and he, Melissa, Ben, and I stayed up way too late talking, but it was fun.

The next morning, the Switch Witch left the kids kinetic sand and some new toys to play with it. They loved it! It was afternoon before they even got into their candy (we let the kids pick out a bag of their favorite candy and switch out the rest) and less than a week later, their candy is pretty much gone. I love the Switch Witch!

It was a great Halloween full of fun memories.
